Circle of Permanent Delegates to UNESCO organized the New Year event

Anar Karimov, the Permanent Delegate of the Republic of Azerbaijan to UNESCO, as a chairperson of the Circle of Permanent Delegates made an opening speech.

He provided the information about the history, activities and objectives of the Circle. Then he emphasized the main role of this entity in the social life of the Permanent Delegations.

Ambassador also talked, that the Circle improves the communication among the delegations and contributes to the development of the multilateral relations. Then he expressed gratitude to the Permanent Delegations for their support in organizing the event.

Karimov noted that this event at the same time is a beginning of the celebration of the 75th anniversary of UNESCO.

At the event, diplomas and medals were traditionally awarded to the active members of the Circle, and there were wished the peace, prosperity, success to the Organization and its members in new 2020.

It should be noted, that the Circle of the Permanent Delegates to UNESCO was established in 1992, and since then Azerbaijan has been a member of it. This Network is the only forum of the organization aimed at developing the informal relations and further strengthening the friendly relations in the UNESCO family. The regular exchanges are held among the members of the Circle, which play an active role in the public life of the permanent missions. Since June 2019, the Chairperson of the Circle of the Permanent Delegates has been elected Ambassador of Azerbaijan, Anar Karimov.
