Conference on "Destruction of the heritage of the Azerbaijani people in Armenia and erasure of historical traces" was held in Paris

Presentation of the book entitled "The fate of the last cultural and historical heritage of Azerbaijan in the city of Irevan, the ancient Tepebashi quarter: Destruction of the heritage of the Azerbaijani people in Armenia and the erasure of historical traces", as well as a Conference dedicated to this topic was organized at the Azerbaijan Cultural Center in Paris by the Permanent Delegation of Azerbaijan to UNESCO with the support of the Azerbaijan National Commission for UNESCO and Embassy of Azerbaijan to France.

At the beginning of the conference, the Permanent Delegate of Azerbaijan to UNESCO, Elman Abdullayev, and the Ambassador to France, Rahman Mustafayev, gave speeches and informed about the importance of the topic of the Conference.

Later lawyer, political scientist, member of the Board of the Congress of European Azerbaijanis, member of the Azerbaijani Community of Armenia Zaur Sadigbeyli, Executive director of the Institute of History of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences Jabi Bahramov, Assistant Director of the Strategic Communications Center Association Ali Abdullayev, Chairholder of the UNESCO Chair on Human Rights and Information Law Amir Aliyev gave detailed information about the Armenian policy of the gradual expulsion of Azerbaijanis from Armenia, the ethnic cleansing against our compatriots, the destruction of the cultural heritage of Azerbaijan in Armenia, and the erasure of historical traces. The speakers talked about the research works, archives, published books and materials related to the discussed topic.

They talked about the destruction of historical and cultural monuments belonging to our people in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan, as well as in Armenia, and the indifferent attitude of UNESCO, whose mandate is to protect the cultural heritage. Z. Sadigbeyli expressed his regret that despite the fact that a group of Azerbaijanis addressed UNESCO with a letter, the institution remained silent until today. He gave comprehensive information about the history of territorial claims of Armenia against Azerbaijan. Showing the maps of Azerbaijan in different periods, he explained that their ancient ancestors were expelled from their homeland.

At the Conference, the policy of urbicide, culturicide and ecocide carried out by Armenia against Azerbaijan was discussed. Relevant videos reflecting Armenia's policy of urbicide, culturicide and ecocide were shown.

At the end, the speakers answered the questions of the Conference audience.

Also, within the framework of the conference, an exhibition of photos of historical and cultural heritage monuments of Azerbaijan destroyed in Armenia was organized.

It should be noted that after receiving information about the presentation of the book "The fate of the last cultural and historical heritage of Azerbaijan in the city of Irevan, the ancient Tepebashi quarter: Destruction of the heritage of the Azerbaijani people in Armenia and the erasure of historical traces" and the holding of a Conference on this topic, the Armenian radical group Nor Seround tried to prevent the conference. But the French police stopped them.
