Memory of our martyrs was honored in Paris

The Embassy of Azerbaijan in Paris and the Permanent Delegation to UNESCO organized a ceremony on September 27 – Commemoration Day.

September 27 – Commemoration Day ceremony, held at the Embassy of Azerbaijan, began with the listening to the National Anthem of Azerbaijan. Then the participants of the event commemorated the dear memory of the martyrs with a minute of silence.

Ambassador Rahman Mustafayev made a speech and said that the marking of September 27 as Commemoration Day by the Decree of President Ilham Aliyev is an expression of deep respect for our soldiers, officers and all martyrs who fought heroically in the Patriotic War and sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of our country. He noted that our brave Army under the leadership of Supreme Commander Ilham Aliyev wrote a heroic chronicle in the military history of Azerbaijan as a result of the "Iron Fist" operation. The memory of our martyrs, who gave this freedom and pride to Azerbaijanis, will live forever in our hearts.

He emphasized that thanks to the high political skills of the head of our state, great successes have been achieved on the diplomatic front. Ambassador spoke about how our diplomats also conveyed the truths about the conflict to the international community during the Patriotic War. He said that the combat tactics of the Azerbaijan Army, which is conducting the war of the 21^st century, especially the Shusha operation, is being studied in the leading military schools of the world today.

The Ambassador emphasized that the unity of the people, the state, and the army was the main factor that ensured our victory in the 44-day Patriotic War. All Azerbaijanis showed solidarity and united around "Iron Fist". Our lands were liberated. This freedom cost the blood of our martyrs. Our martyrs will never be forgotten. Ambassador R. Mustafayev also mentioned that although many countries supported the fair position of Azerbaijan during the Patriotic War, some countries were jealous of its strengthening and still continue to do so.

"Today heroic soldiers and officers of our Army, who showed their military power to the whole world by turning the thirty-year dream of our people into reality, continue to stand like an "Iron Fist" in the protection and defense of our territories and borders freed from occupation," - Ambassador R. Mustafayev underlined.

He asked God's mercy for our martyrs.
