215th session of the UNESCO Executive Board has started in Paris

On October 10, 2022, the plenary debates of the 215th session of the UNESCO Executive Board kicked off.

At the opening ceremony of the meeting, the President of Ghana, Mr. Nana Akufo-Addo, spoke and appreciated the work done by UNESCO in the field of education and culture in the world.

Later, a minute's silence was held in memory of colleagues associated with UNESCO who lost their lives after the 214th spring session.

The agenda of the session was approved without changes.

Director General of UNESCO, Audrey Azoulay, spoke about the work done and events held in the world in accordance with the mandate of UNESCO during the past period, and touched upon the importance of the collective responsibility.

Then the national statements of the countries were heard. On the first day of the plenary debates, 28 member countries of the Executive Board, including Azerbaijan, will deliver a national statement.
