Circle of Permanent Delegates to UNESCO organized the Spring Holiday
Ambassador Elman Abdullayev, Permanent Delegate of Azerbaijan to UNESCO, President of the Circle of Permanent Delegates, and Zahir Aziz, former Permanent Delegate of Afghanistan to UNESCO made an opening speech at the event organized at UNESCO Headquarters.
Elman Abdullayev informed the new members about the history, activities and goals of the Circle. He said that the Circle, being the common network, plays an important role in the social life of the Permanent Delegations.
Speaking about the contribution of the members of the Circle to the development of multilateral relations, the Permanent Delegate thanked the members of the Circle for their contribution to the organization of the event.
He called on all delegations to support the Circle by joining.
Within the framework of the event, in accordance with the tradition, diplomas were presented to the active members of the Circle who completed their mission at UNESCO, and they were wished success in their future endeavors.
After the official part, the event continued with a reception and music program.
The Circle of Permanent Delegates to UNESCO was established in 1992 and since then Azerbaijan has been a member of it. The Circle is the only forum of the Organization to develop informal relations and further strengthen friendly relations within the UNESCO family. The regular exchanges are held among the members of the Circle, which play an active role in their public life. At present, the President of the Circle of Permanent Delegates is the Permanent Delegate of Azerbaijan to UNESCO, Ambassador Elman Abdullayev.
