The representative of Azerbaijan was elected as the Alternate Chair of the UNESCO Appeals Board

On the last day of the 215^th session of the UNESCO Executive Board, elections were held for the position of the Alternate Chair of the UNESCO Appeals Board.

In the elections, the candidate presented by Azerbaijan, Ruhiyya Isayeva, gained the majority of the votes of the members of Executive Board.

Thus, for the first time, Azerbaijan was elected as the Alternate Chair of the Appeals Board of UNESCO.

UNESCO's Appeals Board is an administrative body established by the Director-General to advise on appeals by staff against an administrative decision or disciplinary action under UNESCO's Staff Regulations.
